STRUCTURE OF THE WORKSHOP
- FIRST PART (9:30 - 11:30)
In the first part we are going to practice inversions.
The inverted postures are positions of balance on the head and / or the arms. These asanas calm the nervous system, nourish the brain cells, stimulate the heart and circulation. Sometimes they are not easy, because they are advanced positions that require a lot of concentration, body awareness and patience. In this workshop you will learn step by step how to correctly execute different inverted postures, preparing your body with strength exercises and body awareness.
- SECOND PART (12-13h)
One of the central practices of yoga is pranayama: the science of breath control, or more exactly, the manipulation of prana, the vital energy, through breathing exercises. Pranayama requires a minimum of physical effort, but it allows to increase the oxygen supply. The greatest flow of oxygen reaches the last cell of the body. Hence, it is said that pranayama regenerates the body's cells, increases well-being and helps to heal. By focusing on breathing, the mind calms down and opens. Another benefit is the development of the ability to concentrate, which helps to relax. It removes negative thoughts and emotions, providing a sense of inner peace and harmony.
WHO IS DIRECTED
This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in learning the practice of Ashtanga yoga, regardless of whether they have performed yoga before and regardless of physical condition.
My personal experience with Ashtanga Yoga is an experience of gratitude and love for this practice. I have practiced Yoga for 25 years and I have deepened in the technique by training as an Ashtanga Yoga teacher in the Mysore Mandala Shala in India. I have traveled a lot in the Yoga world nourishing myself with teachers and practices based on tradition. I continue my training with an intensive yoga course at KYM in Chennai from India. I enjoyed an Ashtanga Yoga training with David Svenson and workshops with Manu Jois, Swarasti Jois and Sharath Jois. I decide to write two books so that the wisdom of this practice expands and reaches a greater number of people: "Ashtanga Yoga" and "Manual of Pranayamas" (available in English and German).
I am in love with the practice, a love that does not decay over the years, but that becomes deeper and more inclusive in my life. My physical and mental state is a wonderful example of the healing potential of Yoga. Several years ago I was diagnosed that I could not walk by myself when I reached my current age, that I would need technological help to do it. To this day, thanks to Ashtanga Yoga, and despite those problems in my column, I can still walk and I continue to practice and teach yoga with joy and enthusiasm.
